“Hey!”

Poster

Fall 2022, Adobe Photoshop, 18x24 poster

The Brief:

I made a poster based on my name, and how I personally identify with it.

Conceptualization:

My idea for this poster was to play off of Amazon Alexa, and how I oftentimes get those jokes when I tell people my name, and have it be kind of a way to address the elephant in the room. I also wanted to somehow show that despite the punchlines and everything else, I still closely identify with my name.

Execution:

I first started off by painting "the word “HEY” in yellow paint on a canvas, and then I took a photo of it and cut it out in Photoshop. I also got (royalty free) photos of open mouths, but them out, and then spread them all across the background. I left open spaces throughout, because not only did I think it looked better, but I also wanted to hand write text in those spaces.
